Switching from WATI, AiSensy or Interakt? A WhatsApp CRM Migration Checklist

Switching platforms needs more than a contact import. Plan number eligibility, conversation history, automation and the first live enquiry before cutover.

Switching from WATI, AiSensy or Interakt can make sense when your sales process has changed. It can also create avoidable disruption if the team assumes that contacts, conversation history, templates and automations will all move together.

This WhatsApp CRM migration checklist is a planning guide. Exact transfer eligibility and behavior depend on your current account, providers and destination setup. Obtain written confirmation before disconnecting a working service.

1. Define the reason for moving

Write one sentence describing the improvement you need: clearer lead ownership, a connected sales pipeline, different follow-up behavior or a better implementation fit. Then identify how you will test it. Without that definition, a migration can reproduce the same process in a new interface.

First ask whether the current platform can solve the issue through configuration. WATI, AiSensy and Interakt have different offerings, and an old comparison may not reflect their present capabilities. Review the official WATI, AiSensy and Interakt pages.

2. Inventory the assets separately

AssetMigration question
Business and numberWho controls the account, and is the intended transfer supported?
Contacts and fieldsWhich export format preserves required details and identifiers?
Conversation historyWhat can be transferred, archived or only viewed in the old system?
TemplatesWhich are usable after the change, and what requires further setup?
AutomationsWhich rules must be rebuilt and retested?
Users and ownershipHow will assignments and access be recreated?

Do not assume a contact CSV includes messages, attachments or consent records. Ask for a sample export and inspect it before committing to the move.

3. Map the sales process before importing

List your fields, stages, owners and next-action dates. Decide how old stage names map to the new system and how duplicate records will be handled. Preserve the information needed to continue a real conversation, rather than importing every unused column.

Our CRM import guide and duplicate handling checklist can help. Import a small, authorized sample first and verify the result before the full batch.

4. Rebuild and test automation deliberately

Use fictional scenarios for a new enquiry, a returning buyer, an unanswered question, a human handoff and a closed opportunity. Check when follow-ups start, pause and stop. Confirm that two systems will not both send the same sequence during the transition.

Keep approved message content and communication preferences intact. A platform switch is not permission to restart outreach to everyone in an old database.

5. Agree a cutover and recovery plan

Name an owner for the provider change, data import, team access and first live enquiry. Document the intended cutover time, expected interruption if any, escalation contacts and what can actually be reversed. Do not label a plan “rollback” unless the providers confirm that the relevant steps are reversible.

Keep the old service available for the agreed retention or transition period where appropriate. Confirm cancellation terms separately; completing a technical migration does not necessarily end a subscription.

6. Evaluate SHVYA against your migration requirements

Review SHVYA’s plans for implementation scope and our existing-number guide for questions to ask. Number eligibility, history availability and provider setup need account-specific verification. Do not assume that every workflow can be copied unchanged.

Book a SHVYA migration planning session with your current platform, required fields and desired workflow. Request a written scope covering what will move, what must be rebuilt and how the first live conversation will be checked.
